My wife(after reading a few monitored responses by me) divulged her issues were based in being raised catholic(but no longer catholic) and those issues still being ingrained in her. UPDATE: Thanks for everybody who gave some genuine advice.

soooo, i certainly cant get on her bad side with this. the player in question is indeed my wife. What do you guys think? How do i best work around this players very serious aversion?Īnd, just in case anynody says screw them, do what you want. And the "seance" be the party and investigator sitting at the table going over notes and such, and they get interrupted by the ghost, and they proceed to ask questions as in the seance as written, just without the act of calling on the ghost and using the spirit board. Im thinking of Theodora(the ghost ive chosen to be the partys objective) being pretty much the only ghost that "haunts them" through the house. Im trying to work around it the best i can. But, no issue with bumping into ghosts as an entity. However, when i was going over consent forms and such, one of my players was very adament they didnt want anything at all to do with "spirit boards", and is very iffy on the seance portion altogether. The whole mechanic of house of lament is based on using a "spirit board"(ouijie board) to contact the spirit to escape the house. Ive decided as a dm, that i want to start with the house of lament. 8.First off, im not here for any "house of lament doesn't belong in strahd because." posts. Top box has split corners with old tape inside and loss of paper hear and there. We noted the first statement Uncle Everett makes is a little garbled but then gets clear. We tested the player a number of different times to check it worked consistently and it did. The player is missing a cap for the motor and perhaps a battery cover (not sure it there was a battery cover). Two of the table legs have broken clips but despite this we found the table still stands fine. The cardboard pieces and money just show light use. Please read complete description and review photos closely to be sure this is right for you. This game has all original game pieces and parts.
